“In both cities – the Eternal City and “the City” – I spend countless hours walking and exploring the urban landscapes through my lens. From main avenues and iconic locations to remote corners and forgotten spots, these two worlds provide an endless story for me and my lens. New characters, emotions and unexpected beauty are always to be found on the streets.

All of my street photography is “reactive” – in other words, I spontaneously snapped these pictures in the moment that I was in the middle of the scene and in front of the subject. They were neither staged nor planned.

The landscape images, on the other hand, are the result of a precise decision based on the timing and light of the place, though I tried, when possible, to include a dynamic element.

Rome, my hometown, challenges me to look at familiar scenes with continuously fresh eyes. Here, my work is to find what is contemporary, realistic and even surprising amidst the classic and much-documented beauty. New York is a natural subject for street photography – and my focus is to bring to light the rhythms and patterns I notice; and present the many, often-contrasting emotions occurring in a single frame in this multi-faceted City.

I am fortunate to call both of these extraordinary places my home – and my playground for my passion, photography.”
